3D Project 1

Our Project is about promoting cyber awareness against internet crimes etc. We decided to make a video shorter than a minute to deliver a simple message, in a trailer advertisement style of portrayal.
our video is about a young man trying to acquire programs off the internet without paying. Before he could download the program, he was taken away to a imaginary land off in the virtual world, filled with viruses. Upon arriving, he was chased down by viruses. The video later ends with a cliffhanging message along the lines of "Will He Ever Escape?" to build suspense.
This is our Story board and our tasks delegation.

For my part of the video editing, I chose the music. I decide for a dramatic build up music, to increase the suspense of the viewers. I also made the sucking in scene, which is simply achieved with the grid wire mesh. After the keyed mesh has distorted the video, i simply added another footage of the scene without the character inside. The other part of my work is when the character lands into the virtual world. It was done with one footage of the scene without the character and another footage of the scene with the character being played one after the other. This will make the character appear like he came out of thin air. I then added in particles using CC Particle World to make the effect look more interesting.

Spiderman Poses

Posing Inspiration/Reference

 Product

Spidey Battle Pose/Stance.
Relatively simple to assume this stance. No problems encountered when doing this stance.

Spidey thumbs up pose
Similar to the battle pose, but only problem was actually the thumb positioning.
It was slightly hard to position the thumb straight and perpendicular to the other 4 clenched fingers

Spidey upside down hang pose
The hardest amongst the different poses. The only real problem was to position the legs. If the sole is brought all the way up close to the pelvis, the knees will bend inwards instead of outwards. After messing around with spidey's leg parameters, I found out that the parameter Knee Twist is needed to make spidey's knees go outwards.

Spidey's relax pose.
Not to hard to achieve the pose. Only slight difficulty is the slight slouch on the shoulders and back. It was not that simple to make the slouch look subtle and natural

Big Dog Exercise

iii)   Look at BigDog_kick_slow_motion.mov. Draw a storyboard of BigDog stabilising itself after being kicked.

You should draw the key poses. You don’t need to draw well – but you must show the leg positions and the body rotations around the X, Y and Z axes for each key pose.

1) When kicked, Big Dog's CG will shift off to the opposite direction of which it's being kicked. If Big Dog doesn't respond to this shift of CG, it will fall. To avoid the CG from going out of the SA, Big dog has to move its legs. Firstly, it moved out its FL to expand its SA. It crosses over its back legs while the front legs spread out. Next, to counter the spread of the front legs, the back legs have to follow suit while the back legs close up. This process repeats until the CG is not shifting anymore

2) By moving its legs, Big Dog is able to shift its SA accordingly to follow it's shifting CG. By doing that, Big Dog won't topple over because the CG didn't went out of the SA.

3)

Just like how it is described on Qn 1.

This is the week 2 zombie apoc exercise. This exercise involves me to use an auto-tracked video and adding two animated 3D models, one of a running man and another of a walking zombie. This is done by adding the tracked video into maya and slowly and carefully adjust the 3d elements to make it look like it is really running in the video. The addition and making the 3d elements is simple, but to make it look perspectively accurate is harder.

This is the final output of the auto tracking. It is now ready to be used in maya.

week 1 picture update

This is the first frame of the auto tracking for the video.
The middle section of the video while it is being tracked. This is around the 24th frame.
